Ukraine’s grain exports lag last year by 6.8 million tons

As of March 6, Ukraine has exported 22.819 million tons of grain and legumes since the beginning of the 2025/26 marketing year (July–June), ProAgro Group reports.

According to the State Customs Service, this volume is 6.8 million tons, or 22.9%, lower than the figure recorded on the same date last year.

Wheat exports currently stand at 9.218 million tons, which is 2.9 million tons (23.9%) less than during the same period of the previous season.

Barley exports reached 1.361 million tons, down 765 thousand tons, or 36%, compared with last year.

Corn shipments are also significantly behind last year’s pace. So far, exports amount to 11.931 million tons, compared with 14.9 million tons a year earlier, which is 20.1% lower.

Exports of rye remain minimal, totaling only 200 tons, while 10.8 thousand tons had already been exported by this time last season.

In addition, Ukraine exported 44.4 thousand tons of flour (including 43.2 thousand tons of wheat flour) as of the reporting date, which is 4.6 thousand tons less than during the same period of the 2024/25 marketing year.

Since the beginning of the current month, Ukraine has exported 502 thousand tons of grain, including 94 thousand tons of wheat, 10 thousand tons of barley, and 395 thousand tons of corn. Exports also included 1.4 thousand tons of grain flour.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine remained among the world’s top five exporters of organic agricultural products in 2025.
