In November 2025, Ukraine exported 2,390 tonnes of live cattle, 44% more than in October. Over the first 11 months of 2025, total live cattle exports reached 17,330 tonnes, worth $40.08 million, ProAgro Group reports.
Revenue from the sale of live animals amounted to $5.46 million, 1% higher than in October and 8% higher than in November 2024. The main export markets remain Lebanon (85%), Kazakhstan (8%), and Libya (6.3%).
In November 2025, Ukrainian exporters shipped 411 tonnes of fresh or chilled beef to foreign markets, 64% more than in October and nearly a thousand times more than in November 2024. Export revenue reached $3.25 million, 73% higher than in October and 464 times higher than November 2024. From January to November 2025, chilled beef exports totaled 886 tonnes, worth $6.44 million, 0.2% less in volume but 16% higher in revenue compared to the same period last year. Main destinations for fresh beef were Turkey (65%), Georgia (17.5%), Jordan (7.6%), Azerbaijan (7%), and Moldova (2.5%).
Frozen beef exports in November amounted to 1,610 tonnes, 5% more than in October but 19% less than in November 2024. Revenue from these shipments totaled $7.84 million, 9% higher than October but 5% lower than November 2024. Over the first 11 months of 2025, Ukraine exported 16,950 tonnes of frozen beef, valued at $71.84 million, up 1% in volume and 8% in revenue. The largest shipments went to Azerbaijan (35%), China (26%), Uzbekistan (16%), Kazakhstan (7.8%), and Moldova (6%).
Farmers face a difficult choice: sell cows at record prices or keep them for herd recovery, which would temporarily reduce supply and maintain high prices. The situation is complicated by climate risks, an aging farmer population, challenges in passing farms to the next generation, as well as changes in tariffs, reduced processing capacity in the U.S., and animal disease risks.
Meanwhile, in November, Ukraine imported 91 tonnes of live cattle, 117% more than in October. Chilled beef imports increased to 56 tonnes (+300%), and frozen beef to 100 tonnes (+11%). From January to November 2025, Ukraine imported 645 tonnes of live cattle (+37%), 176 tonnes of chilled beef (+28%), and 1,260 tonnes of frozen beef (-46%) compared to the same period last year.
Ukraine’s foreign trade balance in November remained positive at $14.22 million.
