As of January 16, Ukraine has exported 16.921 million tonnes of grain and pulses since the start of the 2025/26 marketing year (July–June), ProAgro Group reports.
According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, total exports are nearly 7 million tonnes, or 29.2%, lower than during the same period last year (as of January 17).
Wheat exports currently amount to 8.237 million tonnes, which is 2.1 million tonnes, or 20.2%, less than in the corresponding period of the previous season. Barley shipments reached 1.322 million tonnes, down by 690 thousand tonnes, or 34.2% year-on-year.
Corn exports show the sharpest decline compared to last season. Since the beginning of the 2025/26 MY, Ukraine has exported 7.065 million tonnes of corn, versus 11.2 million tonnes a year earlier, a decrease of 36.7%. Rye exports remain minimal at just 200 tonnes, compared with 10.8 thousand tonnes exported by this time last season.
In addition, Ukraine has exported 36 thousand tonnes of flour, including 35 thousand tonnes of wheat flour, which is 3.4 thousand tonnes less than in the same period of the 2024/25 MY.
From the beginning of January to the reporting date, grain exports totaled 1.388 million tonnes, including 285 thousand tonnes of wheat, 2 thousand tonnes of barley, and 1.1 million tonnes of corn. Flour exports during this period amounted to 1.7 thousand tonnes.
As previously reported, Ukraine retained its position among the world’s top five exporters of organic agricultural products in 2025.
