In 2025, Ukraine significantly increased exports of chicken eggs. According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, shipments abroad totaled 129.2 thousand tonnes, up 66.1% year-on-year. Export revenues grew even faster—up 2.8 times—reaching $205.8 million, ProAgro Group reports.
In physical terms, from January to November Ukrainian producers exported 1.88 billion eggs. The largest buyers were Spain (18.8%), the United Kingdom (14.1%), and Czech Republic (11%).
Despite a September incident linked to statements by France’s egg industry organization CNPO about alleged traces of antibiotics banned in the EU, Ukraine managed to maintain and even strengthen its position on the European market. Serhii Karpenko, Executive Director of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine, said the issue was misrepresented in European media and stressed that non-compliant batches could not have reached French supermarkets. He also dismissed claims of intentional discrediting by local producers.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s egg production in 2024 rose to 11.6 billion eggs, up 1.8% year-on-year. Despite war-related losses—especially in southern and eastern regions—the industry continues to meet domestic demand and support exports. The largest production volumes are concentrated in Kyiv region, while key importers include the Netherlands, Israel, Poland, and Italy.
As reported earlier, Ukraine’s table egg market currently appears balanced and dynamic, with no negative outlook for 2026 barring force majeure events such as war escalation or panzootic outbreaks.
